ThreatStream Announces New Advisory Board with Experts from Cisco, Cloudera and OSG Consulting

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., March 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ThreatStream®, the leading provider of an enterprise-class threat intelligence platform, today announced its advisory board, which will provide input and guidance on the company's direction. The board includes John N. Stewart, senior vice president, chief security and trust officer at Cisco; Mercedes Westcott, vice president, public sector, at Cloudera; and Greg Oslan, founder and managing partner at OSG Consulting. Stewart, Westcott and Oslan will serve as strategic resources as ThreatStream continues to develop solutions that enable enterprises to increase the accuracy and speed with which security threats are discovered.

At Cisco, Stewart formed and now leads Cisco's Security and Trust Organization. Under Stewart's leadership, the team's core mission is to protect Cisco's public and private customers. During his illustrious career, Stewart has led or participated in security initiatives ranging from national security programs to elementary school IT design. Stewart serves on the Council of Experts for the Global Cyber Security Center and on the Cybersecurity Think Tank at the University of Maryland. Previously, he served on the CSIS Commission on Cybersecurity for the 44th Presidency. Stewart's 25 years of experience, and specifically his work in security, will bring a wealth of knowledge to the ThreatStream advisory board.

"At a time when information needs to turn into action at scale and at speed, innovative teams and technologies such as ThreatStream's are key," said Stewart. "Helping shape the market and the technology will be the work of the advisory board, and our goal is to see ThreatStream's customers be successful."

At Cloudera, Westcott leads public-sector efforts. Prior to Cloudera, she served as vice president of public sector for Delphix, a database virtualization company. During her career, Westcott also served as vice president of Hewlett Packard Enterprise Security Software (ESS), managed the National Securities Division of the public-sector team at ArcSight and covered National Security Programs for Microsoft. Recently, Westcott was inducted to The Wash100, the premier group of private and public-sector leaders selected by Executive Mosaic's organizational and editorial leadership as the most influential figures in the GovCon sector.

"I'm thrilled to be a member of the ThreatStream advisory board," stated Westcott. "It's a privilege to be in the company of Hugh Njemanze, Greg Martin, Colby DeRodeff and so many of Silicon Valley's most innovative security leaders. In addition to having the opportunity to work with such visionaries again, I see tremendous value in what ThreatStream brings to our government agencies; an enterprise-scale platform for collecting and prioritizing threats that enables rapid analytics and collaboration in a secure community."

Oslan provides strategic business and operations guidance to companies in the analytics, telecommunications and cybersecurity markets, with specific emphasis on early- to mid-stage companies. He held executive positions at Boeing and played management roles at AT&T Ameritech within its strategy, consulting and wireless organizations. Formerly, he was a partner at Paladin Capital. In addition to joining the ThreatStream advisory board, Greg currently serves as chairman of the board of RiskSense, Inc., and on the advisory boards of Raytheon Corporation, RedOwl Analytics and the Indiana University Kelley School of Entrepreneurship. He also serves as senior advisor to the Chertoff Group and as an advisor to several U.S. government cyber initiatives.

"ThreatStream is re-architecting how we create, leverage and manage true cyber intelligence," stated Oslan. "With its team's history in the cybersecurity space, its growing customer base and its proven, scalable solution, ThreatStream is poised to lead the market and most importantly, help its customers minimize threats."

ThreatStream recently announced it raised $22 million in series B funding based on the rapid adoption of the ThreatStream platform, the first community-vetted threat-sharing environment to manage the entire life cycle of security threat intelligence. Since the company's founding in February 2013, more than 1,200 registered users from Fortune 1000 and government organizations have deployed the ThreatStream platform, which analyzes threat intelligence feeds from hundreds of sources and digitally integrates that intelligence into a company's existing security infrastructure.

ThreatStream has formed the advisory board at a time when it continues to attract top-tier customers in the private sector and government agencies. The company also recently moved to a new office in Redwood City, California, to accommodate its rapid growth.

"John, Mercedes and Greg each bring unique perspectives and expertise to our advisory board," said Hugh Njemanze, CEO of ThreatStream. "Their strong experience advising organizations in both the public and private sectors will be extremely valuable as our company strives to be the threat intelligence platform of choice to enterprises and government organizations."
